Is it safe to drink Crystal Light On the Go Green Tea if you maybe pregnant? I think I might be pregnant and I read somewhere that drinking too much green tea (has caffeine) that it is bad for you. However I can not find any information that convinces me that I shouldn't drink 32 ounces of Crystal Light On the Go Green Tea every day. Can someone advise me or point me to a helpful site?

Expectant Mommy replied: "I heard not to drink any Green tea as it has been linked to birth defects."

qwertycurious replied: "ask your Dr!!! not us! we might give you (unintentionally of couse) some advice that isn't the best...whenever it is something to do ith the health of your unborn baby, you should always always consult the advice of your dr. first...hope this helps!"

hunneybee1979 replied: "I have read that you should limit the amount you drink but that it is ok."

dmvariety replied: "First of all u THINK--u do not even know if you are pregnant. Read the labels most of the green tea that u are drinking has less real green tea. See your doctor for testing. Go to herb store and get the real green tea which does not taste like what u are drinking."

new mommy replied: ""This is what I have read from medical studies. Green tea contains a compound epigallocatechin gallate (EGCE) which blocks folic acid metabolism in cells. One corrulation study showed women who drank 3 cups of green tea a day during preganancy were 3 times more likely to have a baby with a neurotube defect, such as spinal bifida. Aspartame, the artificial sweetener found in NutraSweet, Equal, and most diet soft drinks and other sugar-free treats, is considered safe for most pregnant women when consumed in moderate amounts. Saccharin, on the other hand, is more controversial. Aspartame is composed of two amino acids, phenylalanine and aspartic acid (amino acids are the building blocks of proteins). When digested by the body, methanol, a type of alcohol is also created. Aspartame has not been shown to cause birth defects, and although some members of the public and a few scientists have raised concerns about its safety, most physicians and scientists believe that it's safe when used in moderation during pregnancy. When it comes to aspartame, the main concern is with moms-to-be who have a genetic disease called phenylketonuria, or PKU, which prevents them from breaking down the phenylalanine in their diet. If they don't follow a specific diet, the phenylalanine builds up in their bodies, causing their babies to be mentally retarded. Fortunately, thanks to FDA-mandated labeling of products containing aspartame, avoiding it is relatively easy for expectant moms with PKU. According to a 1985 report from the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Nutrition, "Present levels of aspartame consumption appear to be safe for those who do not have PKU. ...The blood phenylalanine levels reported in response to loading doses of aspartame in normal adults ... do not seem sufficiently high to warrant concern of toxicity to the individual or even to a fetus during pregnancy." Saccharin, one of the first artificial sweeteners, is much less commonly used today. Although it hasn't been shown to cause birth defects, animal studies show that it may increase the risk of bladder cancer. When a mom-to-be ingests saccharin, it crosses the placenta into her baby's bloodstream. Research on monkeys shows that saccharin is cleared out of the baby's body more slowly than the mother's. So if an expectant mother ingests a great deal of saccharin, it could accumulate in her baby's bladder and potentially increase the baby's risk for bladder cancer. Because of this concern, some physicians ban saccharin from their pregnant patients' diets. However, if you inadvertently used saccharin before knowing you were pregnant, try not to worry. The risks, if any, of consuming a small amount in the first weeks are extremely small. The main health issue for pregnant women who use artificial sweeteners is that they may be missing out on more nutritious foods and beverages. If you drink a lot of diet soda, for instance, you may not be getting enough water, milk, or juice, all of which are beneficial to your developing baby." source: you can check this site: Source(s): .................."

Looking for stockists of Crystal Light made by Kraft Foods North America!!? Im looking for Australian Stockists of Crystal Light made by Kraft Foods North America....its a soft drink mix that is sugur free and 0g carbs 90% fewer calories than leading soft drinks, theres no caffeine * Low in sodium you mix the powder in Water........I can get it in the US but getting quite $$ in postage and price for item. I live in Australia

ya_vigilante replied: "You want Crystal Light but you live in Australia, is this correct? I emailed Kraft. I'll post the response when I get it. I live 5mi. from a Kraft factory in the US. <> Hi. I called Kraft direct. They do not export Crystal Light to Australia. I'm going to give you the contact info for Kraft in Australia. Maybe you can get to know someone there that may help you locate an import/export company in Australia. They also may be able to tell you what other countries, if any, have Crystal Light. Then it would be cheaper to ship from that country instead of the US. The person that I spoke with, said they have Kraft in 60 countries. But on the web site there are only 10 countries with websites. Kraft Foods Limited 187 Todd Road Fishermans Bend VIC 3207 Australia Kraft Advisory Team 1800 033 275 I also checked Amazon.com. They have Crystal Light, but I think they only ship CDs, video cassettes, books, etc. to Australia. You could contact them and ask them about Crystal Light. If you really need a Crystal Light fix, you can contact me through an email and maybe we could discuss options to help you out. ."

west_xylaphone replied: "does kraft have an aussie outpost? i'd email them AND american kraft, because they should be able to tell you who sells it down there, if anyone. i hope you can find it coz it's delicious! and it is bloody expensive to ship down there, even for items as light as those things. good luck!"

Is it ok to use Crystal light to keep a sick 2 year old from dehydrating? It doesn't have caffeine or sugar so it seems like it would be ok to use.

KitKat replied: "It's full of artificial stuff though so I dont see why you would want to give a child that stuff. Water or watered down clear juice is much better."

teel2624 replied: "I"M not sure why Crystal light would really do anything to help with the dehydration - it won't help balance electrolites or anything. I say either use just water or go get some gatorade."

newfiegurlie replied: "No, buy pedialyte. Get something with all the nutrients she needs, not just a 'koolaid'..even if it is diet. Buy some pedialyte. It has the electrolytes she needs."

KidDynomite replied: "Crystal light = maybe Crystal meth = bad idea"

Me2 replied: "NO! That fake sugar is not good for a 2 year old the way it is. When you need to hydrate, you need real sugar. The nutrients in sugar is what brings you back. Give him real sugar. And never give a child nutrasweet anything. It's not even good for adults and your giving it to a 2 year old. He needs real sugar. If you have nothing else to give him then put real sugar in the crystal light. You can even put it in milk or weak tea. Please don't give a child nutrasweet. Make some popsicles for him out of sweetened juice or something. I hope he feels better."

Stacey F replied: "no!it is not healthy for a 2 yr. old. try a popsicle, water or go buy pedialite. even 100% juice is better than crystal light."

nytrainop replied: "yes. It is still mostly water, which is what the child needs to maintain fluid balance, esp if they have a fever, diarhea etc.. Pedialyte works better, but if the choice is nothing or crystal light, its better to get the fluid in."

atruddie replied: "not the best to use. get pedialite, it has the nutrients needed to help keep from getting dehydrated. walmart also has their own version of it and its cheaper."

Lisa replied: "you should choose either straight water or a fluid with electrolytes, like gatorade or pedialyte. Dont give your baby artificial sweetner."

Springldy replied: "Give her pedialight, thats what your doctor would tell you. They make them in popsicle orm and your child would love that. Hope your child is feeling better"

sidda517 replied: "i wouldn't use crystal light. it has artificial sweetener that isn't good for anyone especially a toddler. my kids pediatrician has always recommended water, juice, pedialyte, gatorade, powerade, ensure, popsicles, and fruit. melons, oranges, grapes, etc... have tons of water in them. you could try making a "fun plate" for him/her. take different pieces of fruit that are colorful and visually appealing and arrange them on a plate to make funny faces or animals. he/she will get plenty of hydration from fruit as well as water and the like. good luck. hope your toddler feels better."

angel replied: "it probably wont hurt , but Dr,s usually say gateraide, and i find it works. there r also types of freeses for childrens fevers and they would b good for dehydrating. try this and good luck."

Mum to 2 replied: "NO! I dont recommend that because it has the artifical sweetner in that. Get pedialyte or gatoraide. Or use plain water. If your toddler wont drink anything, use a dropper and every 15mins, quirt some water or above mentioned into the childs mouth. Play a little game with child as if its a treat or something. This will keep your child hydrated. You should take child to the dr. if you feel your child is dehydrated because they can get extremely sick very fast. Good luck."

mom2twins replied: "It's much better to use Powerade or Gatorade. Light drinks have the artificial sweeteners that has proven to be harmful to young children. You could make your own version by adding a pinch of salt to apple juice. Unfortunately sugar is just about everywhere. If you need to make it fun have the child suck on a frozen water pop. It helps with dehydration and fever. If you suspect your child is too dehydrated, a trip to the hospital is needed."

mikki replied: "try gatorade, pedialyte ( they have flavors now), water"

njyecats replied: "no! your baby needs the sugar! Go get some pedialyte!"

Jennifer H replied: "why dont you just give him gatorade or water? Gatorade works really good."

toomanycommercials replied: "I think that a) some sugar is good to help replace lost calories and electrolytes and b) splenda/nutrasweet is not something I"d want to put in my kid. Why don't you use pedialyte or juice?"

Michelle replied: "I agree with most of the statements about pedialyte or gatorade...however I hate how much sugar gatorade has in it and we've been using propel when our girls are sick, it's got less sugar and has the nutrients to help prevent dehydration"

jcox_teacher replied: "No! Use Pedialyte or Gatoraide."

dfuerstcat replied: "No sugar substitutes are mild diuretics your would be making the problem worse. A sports drink or watered down fruit juice would be better."

Singapore Stockists of Crystal Light made by Kraft Foods North America? Im looking for Singapore Stockists of Crystal Light made by Kraft Foods North America....its a soft drink mix that is sugar free and 0g carbs 90% fewer calories than leading soft drinks, theres no caffeine * Low in sodium you mix the powder in Water........I can get it in the US but I dont know where to get this in Singapore

Roy H replied: "If I were you, I would look at where it is made before buying it...MADE IN MEXICO! I was at the store last night and notice this. I put it back on the shelf and bought another brand, Liptons, still made in the USA. From the way I see the illegal Mexicans living in the USA, I dont want any prepared food that is made in Mexico if I can help it! The other brand was actually cheaper than the foreign made stuff."

has anyone given up caffeine ? what did you use as a substitute ? i am trying to get myself off of soda. i am drinking more hot tea { herbal , no caffeine } and crystal light . does anyone have tips ?

adobeprincess replied: "try decreasing the amount of caffeine you intake during a day. I do not drink it everyday anymore. If you go off it suddenly you can get headaches."

Officer. replied: "dont drink soda at all. dont drink tea or coffee. stick to milk and water. thats what I do. i havent touched caffeine in 2 weeks. substitute? why? arent u getting off it to detoxify your body from its stimulant effects? why substitute caffeine with another stimulant? that defeats the whole purpose. you're still gonna put a strain on your neurotransmitters, serotonin, dopamine and aderal function (which caffeine tampers with) when u quit caffeiene ur not supposed to take any SUBSTITUTES ur supposed to quit for good. dont take any substitutes and dont alter ur body chemistry any more. you're a lot better that way."

Hungry Like The Wolf replied: "caffeine makes your body think it is about to exert itself so it produces chemicals that lead to weight gain, so i have cut back on it, especially coffee."

Spirit replied: "i have a sleep disorder and a drinking problem. i replaced it with booze."

WILDMAN replied: "I READ THE LABELS CAREFULLY & TRY TO ALWAYS DRINK CAFFEINE FREE SODAS. I HAD TO GIVE UP CAFFEINE FOR HEALTH REASONS."
